I have a permanent get-out-of-Hell-free card.
I'm a Baptist. I was baptised when I was 9 years old.

Catholics have to renew their get-out-of-Hell-free cards every Sunday, when they confess all manner of filthy, depraved activities, including spending any time at all away from the confessional.

We Baptists have it easy.

Being dunked under water by a bloke in a dress absolves me of any sins I may have committed prior to the dunking, and also any sins I might ever commit during the rest of my life. It's permanent, and irrevocable.

Right. I'm off to molest some children.

We don't confess every Sunday.
We confess when we have a sin we need to confess. It's the Eucharist that we receive every Sunday at Mass.

Bless me, Father, for I have sinned; it's been days/weeks since my last confession.
The opening words of the confession give it away. The Church teaches that merely being away from the confessional is a sin, regardless of anything else one may or may not have done. Therefore, there is always a sin to confess.

Right, well now that you've told some people that they don't believe what they think they believe, and that the church teaches things they were never taught by the church, can I tell you that you believe you're going to hell?
"Bless me, Father, for I have sinned; this is my first confession." Is the semicolon causal? Or is this merely information to help inform the rest of the conversation?

Pfft, I was christened as a Methodist as a small baby
so I was guaranteed my place in Heaven half a century ago.
