If you have to choose between two things but cant, toss a coin.

This actually works!
But then it turns into best of three if I don't get the answer I wanted. Then I go ahead and do what it was i wanted to do in the first place.

I don't even spin it...
I use this technique with others, but simply by asking "OK, which side of the coin is which option?" - the option they name first is almost always their favourite. Once you point that out and offer to spin anyway, they often don't want to as they risk not having their preferred one come up.
