This is a question Guilty Pleasures, part 2

It's been a while since we last asked this question and CaptainFellatioNelson's confession that he likes "to fart under the duvet, creep in and see how long I can last only on the fart air contained within" reminded us just how good it was last time.

What are the little things you do for fun when nobody else is around?

hygiene
I've been using the same chopping board all week without washing it. It's had raw chicken and bacon on it, as well as numerous unwashed veg. I never get ill. The cooking process kills all the bacteria.

food only poisons you if you let it

^^
I'm the only one in my family who doesn't wash fruit or vegetables, eats things after having dropped them on the ground, doesn't always wash his hands after going to the toilet etc. and I've never had a sick day in my life. If you want a healthy immune system it's got to get a work out.

I'm the same as ramsay tupper
and know others who do the same

while I may not get as far as leaving the same chickeny chopping board unwashed for a whole week I certainly don't get anal about say, using a knife that has cut meat to cut vegetables that are about to be steamed for 10 minutes.

I'm certain that food poisoning from restaurants is because they either haven't cooked something properly or because it's bad to begin with.

as long as whatever it is you are doing is properly cooked and you don't take the piss like washing a raw chicken breast in your mouth then things will be fine.

Quite correct, but the problem with food poisoning is not just the bacteria themselves, which are indeed substantially eliminated by the cooking process, but the toxins they produce when still alive. These tend to survive cooking, and do your innards no good whatsoever.

And washing fruit isn't just to remove bugs - it also removes agricultural chemicals which may have been sprayed onto the surface.

I laugh at industrial toxins
And sneer at heat-impervious bacteria. Until I get bowel cancer. Then I'll be in the shit.
