I accidentally ate rat meat in China...There are all these little carts outside bars in Chengdu, Sichuan that cook meat on skewers. Long story short, I rolled out of a bar at 3 in the morning and it smelled pretty good so I grabbed a few and wolfed them down (I couldn't really taste anything at that stage of the night). A couple of days later I was talking to some other backpackers about how great these little carts were. Cue conversation:
Backpacker: "Did the meat have tiny little bones in it?"
Me: "Yeah, why?"
Backpacker: "It was rat meat."
