This is a question Helicopter Parents

Back when young ScaryDuck worked in the Dole office rather than simply queuing in it, he had to deal with a claimant brought in by his mum. She did all the talking. He was 40 years old.

Have you had to deal with over-protective parents? Get your Dad to tell us all about it.

My Mum...
still tells me to "watch crossing the road and don't speak to any strange men"

I am 40 and probably one of the strangest men you could meet.

This reminds me...
My mum also did the "Never talk to strangers." thing.

Yet, when standing in the queue at the supermarket, the first thing she does - turn around to the stranger behind her and chat away...

All the more reason for you not to speak to strange men.
Imagine if two of you got together and started talking. You'd give each other ideas. Listen to your mother.

On being told of my plans for a day out to Alton Towers once
My dear old mum asked me, in her best concerned/condescending voice, "Are you sure you'll be ok driving on that motorway?" which would have been a valid question had I not already been a lorry driver for several years at that point.
