Heroes and villains of 2011
Who were your heroes or villains of the last year, and why? Who inspired you? Who had you kicking the cat across the room? They don't have to be well known, you might even want to laud the achievements of your binman. (Note that "Nick Clegg nuff said" answers puts you straight onto our naughty list)

My dad
for fighting off his cancer, while still having the strength to have a nice evening over a glass of whiskey or two (he's still in chemo I might add). Definitely my hero this year.
As for villains, I'd say investment bankers and all other money-grabbers, as well as the politicians who allow this nonsense to continue. They should all be forced by law to grow thin moustaches and twirl them everytime they appear in public, just so we'd all instantly recognize them for what they truly are.

While I agree with the general premise that bankers are wankers
I must say that I've avoided all sorts of banking related disaster in my life by saving up a bit of cash to buy things with and not borrowing what I couldn't fucking afford to pay back if interest rates shifted a bit as they are often wont to do.
Well, that and not losing my job and earning more than I spend.
With you all the way on twirly moustaches though.
