This is a question Hoarding

Willenium says: I had to bring some floppy disks into work which I had been saving for 10 years "in case I might need them". Tell us when your hoarding skills have come in useful (or not, as the case may be)

More Stationary Than Staples
Not me but my partner is an avid collector of stationary:
- He has drawers full of 100s of pens only half of which work and most of which he steals - although not from shops. His doctor had to chase after him as he left the surgery having "borrowed" his pen recently.
- He has piles of pads turning yellow on shelves with paper that crumbles if you try writing on one
- He has a huge collection of bulldog clips, rulers, paperclips - you name it.

He's a former civil servant and I was talking to the wife of one if his ex colleagues recently who told me her husband is the same - he even collects restaurant serviettes!

The only useful item in all of this stuff are the paperclips which he uses to clean the wax from his ears - nice!

Length? - about 2 inches once you've created a narrow loop in the wire.

^This
I didn't even read anything past the second sentence due to being quite annoyed.

Psh.
Accepting the exceptions of how the effects of half a hearth might affect you, whether it is stationary or not, I think its quite easy to allude to the ease in which the correct spelling might elude someone. Indeed, since the primary role of language is to elicit information, the fact that its use may be illicit is irrelevant as long as the intended meaning is clear.

The Great Unwashed
Misspelling "stationery" is hardly surprising from one so vulgar as to refer to a napkin as a "serviette".

So your partner is dull and has shit stuff.
I bet you're glad you told the world.

My father is somewhat the same.
I went to help him move a couple of years ago. I chucked out two dozen dried out ball point pens and masses of scrap paper. He kept this junk, but I had to talk him out of giving some high quality china and glassware away that were heirlooms. He'd already given all the larger cooking ware away with the result that he had nothing to cook a decent sized meal in. Yes, former public servant.

Compulsion
I am sad to say I only read the comments to find out whether someone else had pointed out the spelling aberration.

I hoard spelling errors.

This is definitely one for Mr A Badger.
