Hold on, hold on. Regarding the vegetarians; they're asking you to EXCLUDE something from their meal. But when you go there asking for meat, you're asking them to INCLUDE something in their meal.

There's a big difference between asking for "anything except X" and asking for "only X" in terms of how fussy you're being.

They aren’t asking for an exclusion, they are asking for an alternative – how they ask might be veiled, but they are asking for something else.

Consider the scene… I’m cooking a mixed grill, on my menu, is steak, sausage, chicken, a bit of fish and maybe either mushrooms or a grilled tomato.

As you honestly suggesting I ought to give a veggie a tomato, cut in half and bunged under a medium grill for a couple of minutes? Would that represent a wholesome meal? Or, would the better option be give them an alternative?

are happy to sacrifice a decent meal. i wouldn't expect someone to cook something special for me...but since i know that not everything will be meat, i can eat that. i am not asking for an alternative. i'm just not eating the meat.

actually some of my friends will cook a vegetarian meal, because SHOCK HORROR they can live without meat for one meal and DOUBLE SHOCK they like the taste!

you have strange assumptions. or if there are any vegetarians like that then they are obviously cunts and this has nothing to do with them being vegetarians.
