This is a question Hypocrisy

Overheard the other day: "I've told you before - stop swearing in front of the kids, for fuck's sake." Your tales of double standards please.

I am similar
I do drink, but I don't get drunk.

It can be a problem with one friend who just doesn't get it. He'll offer to buy me a drink and I'll ask for a coke. He'll then come back with a pint.

I really don't understand why being out of control of your body and actions equates with having a good time.

Because coke (as in cola) won't get you do things you don't want to
It's all about those things you wouldn't do if you were sober: willingly sniff a fart, drink piss by mistake and not get angry of it, start a fight for no reason, kneel in front of a tram and pray for it to stop or take a cab to cross the street.

It's losing control that makes it so enjoyable, getting yourself rid of your dignity in a temporary and funny way.

So, if you like it tight and clean, booze is not for you. If you DON'T like fucking a fat chick in a bus stop at 3 a.m. but you'd laugh if it happened to you, then booze is for you.

Drinking gives your conscience temporal delay and detachment: you being stupid while thinking you're great THEN, when you wake up and think about it, like going to the theater to watch yourself acting stupid.
