This is a question Hypocrisy

Overheard the other day: "I've told you before - stop swearing in front of the kids, for fuck's sake." Your tales of double standards please.

Parents are the worst for hypocrisy.

The best case is driving. I passed my driving test about... 5 months ago. By passing said test it proves you are competant and safe enough to drive on the british road network AND I have been pottering around myself ever since.

So why do parents still think they know best?

"Stop speeding, the limit is 70 on a motorway" (says my mother when she looks over from the passenger seat to the speedo)

Yes, thank you for stating the fecking obvious mother

"Its a 30 limit through here, slow down!" (Note I WAS doing 30)

To cap it all off they then go and do at least 40 in 30 zones.

Fecking hypocrits.

The next time they do that
while you're driving, steer sharply to the left and crash into a wall. That'll teach um.

It's because they've passed their tests and have years of practical experience under their belts, whereas you have passed your test and have been driving for five months.

Just a theory.

^ what he said
And I bet they pay less for their insurance than you do...

it takes years to learn to drive. Passing your test means you are _just_ barely competent to drive on UK roads. It does not mean you're any good at it. There's a reason why insurance costs so much when you're 17.

*awaits 'old fart' flame*

But yeah, parents are fucking terrible for that. Especially as my dad had a number of spectacular crashes when he was young, whereas the worst I ever did was scrape his car on the driveway gatepost. I was doing 60 at the time, but that's not the point.
