Irrational Hatred
People who say "less" when they mean "fewer" ought to be turned into soup, the soup fed to baboons and the baboons fired into an active volcano. What has you grinding your teeth with rage, and why?

What a load of unfunny merkin shit.
It should be banned from being shown on any channel.

Oh wait, yes i can, its fucking shit!!!
I can't see why people rave over it.
(PS Am i the only one who doesn't think it's funny???)

Funny's what you make it - a bit like good music.
Personally, I like Friends, particularly the bits when you can tell they're really struggling to keep it together.
Obviously less secure people feel the need to rage against it and try to justify such, but basically all they're saying is "THIS IS NOT TO MY TASTE" very, very loudly.
Which is annoying at best.

I found some bits of it quite funny
I haven't watched in years now, but I caught a bit while channel-surfing and it's okay - no great shakes in the comedy department but it raised the occasional titter.

I used to enjoy it
but now, thanks to Channel 4, More 4, More 4+ etc. I've seen every episode 109 times each and they're not funny anymore.
PS do you happen to know Mary Hinge or Keith Burtons?

It's US TV to a tee.
Three people sit on a settee and shout their lines at one another because shouted lines are funnier. A fourth person enters and there's a tumultuous applause pause of thirty seconds before they shout their first line. etc etc etc

Friends Is....
Slack-Jawed predigested American Comedy for the clueless generation.
In many ways, it's not even funny at all.

i hate it also
But I do think a lot of the writing was good. It captured a certain moment (even if it did seem to go on forever). As for the acting, mwah. Although Matt Perry was really good in studio 60. I think a lot of the negative commentary levelled at Friends could just as easily be about Frasier but for some reason that seems to be more acceptable. Probably because it hasn't been played to death on E4 and doesn't appeal to brain dead teenagers who think that stepping off the plane at jfk automatically entitles you to an authentic Friends style experience within 3 minutes of finding a boutique coffee house.

Used to
Used to like Friends but, like another poster, I've seen each episode 109 time each. I'm hate how they use too clinical words like "uterus", and those fucking annoying lesbians. Oh, and the kid that plays Ross's son is an annoying shit.
Big Bang Theory is way funnier (though season 3 was a bit weak) and still tucked away enough so only geeks like me watch it. I don't think hoi poloi would get the Paul Dirac gags...
