This is a question Kids

Either you love 'em or you hate 'em. Or in the case of Fred West - both. Tell us your ankle-biter stories.

Let's be honest.
The majority of little kids are, by nature, abhorrent little cunts. They are not so much raised as tamed, hopefully, and broken of anti-social behavior. Sometimes this can be done gently, but occasionally a bit of a bitchslap is in order.

Which is why I could never be a teacher or a sports coach- I'd teach them the rudiments of civilized behavior that their parents neglected, and not always in a gentle or kindly way. I would be quite effective and would help mold them into human beings, but in this age I would likely be arrested and have lawsuits coming out my ears.

I feel a major rant coming on. I may come back to this post later and edit it.

tamed and broken.....
Yup, I'd say that is my parenting method in a nutshell.

Nah, not a gym teacher.
I could never see the point of sports at school, and frankly hated them.

No, I'm just your run-of-the-mill guy who got picked on a lot as a child and remembers it all too well, and sees red now when he sees it happening to some other kid. I can't change what happened to me, but I can stop it from happening to others- and maybe convince them at the same time to change their twattish behavior and act like humans instead of little hairless apes.

As a fat lazy bugger
when I was young, I hated school sports, or indeed any form of physical education (except cricket, because I was good at that and could hit boundaries to avoid running too much!)

Until one year when I had a teacher who took an interest in me, and encouraged my slothful self to take an active part in the football game or whatever. Then I found myself actually enjoying it.

Good teachers can and do make a difference.

As you know
I went to a little, sadistic military college in the Deep South. I love history as much as anything, barring family and all, but it is a TRUE passion of mine. So much so that I am constantly berated by those who know me saying I should be a teacher.

My idea of 'teaching' comes from upperclass years at college:

Knob (Freshman) has his buttons on the chin strap to his garrison cap with the palmetto trees upside down: Smack Knob as hard as I can in the back of the head causing his garrison cap to slide across quad.

Knob has smirk on his face: smack Knob in the back of his head as hard as I can, erasing said smirk from his face.

Knob has mustard on his uniform from chow: Drop Knob for 20 push ups, waiting until Knob is up from his push-ups and smack him in the back of his head as hard as I can.

I would be the shortest tenured teacher in the history of education.

.
I coached a group of kids for a while they were actually OK just easily distracted. They all ran off after a tennis ball and started to fight over it and came to me with the usual "he won't let me have a go!"..my answer "I don't care I'm not a tennis coach" confused silence followed but they wandered off and stopped bothering me.
