Kids
Either you love 'em or you hate 'em. Or in the case of Fred West - both. Tell us your ankle-biter stories.

4 wheel drive jeep type things
Why is it that people find it necessary to buy these petrol/diesel swallowing sacks of shit just because they have one child?
When I was a kid my dad got 9 of us in a Mk3 Cortina
Unless you live in a remote country spot or on a farm buy a proper car that is more environmentally sound.
I feel a rant coming on.........
Oh - here it comes
........
and is it any wonder why their all bloddy obese these days. It's because they all get driven to school by mummy and daddy.
Let the lazy bastards walk
I had to walk 2 miles to school every day when I were a lad whatever the weather and it didn't do me any harm.
and when your ferrying the little lardbuckets to school - don't just randomly pull over to let them out as there are other people using the roads that are trying to get to bloody work on time
Also there is no such thing as ADHD - its bastard naughtiness/laziness/shit-thickness*
* delete as appropriate
Giving it a medical label just takes away the blame "It's not his fault its a condition"
Absolute arsebiscuits
By the way Mrs MTC is expecting our first in October and I will be training it from an early age to be an agent of pure anadulterated evil. MMMMMWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

There is such thing as ADHD, no really
But it is WAY overused. It shouldn't describe a child who is naught. My friend has it and you would know by her that she did, its obvious. But she isn't a brat.
Also labeling a child as ADHD puts the blame on the child, and not a school system that has failed them, some children don't respond in the normal schooling environment. Another friend of mine was an controllable as a youth, she was told she wouldn't be accepted into any secondary school. when she entered secondary school she took up art and music which had been unavailable in her primary school and now is the most level headed person i know, who graduated with an honours degree.
But yeah i totally agree with your 4x4 rant. Hate them Hate anyone who drives one

I am with you 100% there
seriosuly...
anyone who owns a BMW X5, one of those huge discovery 3's or any of those sorts of cars are dumbasses.
They will never take those cars off road at all, just use it to drive around to the fucking shops and to drop the kids (who are always about 5 and 7 and so no need for a huge car) off at school
those people really annoy me

How true.
Two words.
Porsche.
Cayenne.
Oh, and I was unquestionably a hyperactive little brat despite cycling 3.5 miles to school every day (and the same back) and working pretty hard while I was there - so I think there is some truth to the ADHD diagnosis - but I don't think there's anything to be gained by saying a kid has it. Tell 'em to buck their ideas up and wait for them to calm down naturally in a few years, that's Dr Superstoater's advice. Ritalin? Pah.

4X4s indeed,
i love the "i need one so my kids are safe" argumnet that people use, if you really thought that your go to an army surplus depot or some such place and buy yourself a second hand tank / troop carrier, infact if only i earned a shit load more cash i woul dgo and buy one when my boy gets to school age just so i can annoy the x5 drivers at the school gates and when they tut point out that im just making sure my kids are safe, the same as them. i wonder what their reply would be.
As for ADHD i believe it probably does exist but the label is used too much for kids with shit parents. if it does exist i reckon i probably suffered (maybe still do) as my 2 brothers were far calmer than me

4x4
Totally agree with all the stuff on driving, every day I have to pass a school and it's a test of driving skills! Parents just stopping to let their little cherubs out of their massively oversized car!
Then just trying to move back into traffic and causing chaos! It properly winds me up!
ADHD - There is a case for ADHD and what it does but kids with it don't always misbehave. They can't maintain concentration for long periods. I'm assuming that you don't know what ADHD stands for as you say laziness is a reason? Surely soemone who is hyperactive isn't lazy. And before anyone hits back I've worked with kids with ADHD and had to employ methods of teaching them, keeping them interested and keeping them active while teaching in EBD schools.
However I agree with you on the fact that some people do use it as an excuse with their kids just because it's convenient which does give rise to a view such as yours. It does need to be recognised as a condition but it's not the be all and end all it's made out to be.
And Ritalin...What sort of person gives developing kids medication that stunts their growth?????? Would any sane person give them medication if you traded the word ritalin for marijuana? I don't think so but that calms them down as well...

The ADHD thing
Too many people stick the label on kids who are just a bit unruly. Mini Osok has the energy of a portable nuclear reactor, so if he doesn't get enough exercise in a day, then he turns into a git. If he gets overtired, he turns into a hell-git. Some parents would be dragging his sorry butt off to an 'ologist' to get happy pills dished out, or at least statemented as a loon so that they could use it as an excuse for any future misbehaviour.
Personally, I take him to the park and chase him around the trees pretending to be a werewolf.
AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I was an annoying little bugger
with far too much energy. During term-time, this was worn off by cycling 6 miles each way to school and back (as well as doing sports every other afternoon anyway). During the holidays my parents just used to chuck me out of the house with one of my friends (whose parents had the same idea), telling us to come back for lunch and supper. We had the most amazing childhood running, jumping and climbing trees. Being hyperactive was ACE!
