This is a question Losing it

Bluehamster tells us: "This morning I found myself filling my mug not a teabag, but with Shreddies." Tell us of the times when you've convinced yourself that you're losing your marbles.

I fervently wish that it was Friday
So i could get out from behind this desk and spend a weekend with my friends and the woman that i love. Then i realise that i am wishing my life away and although this is drudgery of the worse kind that i am lucky compared to many who don't have a job. But then the reality of this grey existance kicks in and I know in my head that the moments of sunshine that warm my heart are all too brief and Monday will once again bring back the black dog to gently crush my soul in meaningless tasks.

I've done her up the arse.

Yeah, and a lot more than that, as it goes.

It's easy to say if you don't like your job get another one but it's not easy to get a job which fills you with sunshine but also pays the electric. I think most people strike a balance between having a job that they love and a job that they like.

Try to focus on the positives - do you get on with the other guys at work? I wouldn't call my workmates "mates" but they're generally a good laugh while I'm in the office.

Also, having a wank in the bogs sometimes lightens the mood.

I am presently looking for other work,
But the current climate is not exactly job rich. The people i work with are on the whole alright. Usual mix of decent people and knobs. They aren't the problem the job itself is just mind bogglingly tedious

I might just try a wank in the bogs at least then they will be paying me to knock one out over an image in my mammary banks.

You are me, AICMFP
At least, you sound like you're in exactly the same job situation as me i.e. you hate it, think your colleagues are somewhere between barely tolerable losers and hateful turds, keep getting shortlisted for jobs elsewhere but suddenly your experience isn't quite right when it comes to the crunch.
(, Wed 27 Jul 2011, 16:18, closed)
That sounds
Pretty accurate
I do wonder why i bother turning up most days

Jack your job in
Go on the dole, get drunk and smoke fags all day. I've been doing it for years, it's fucking brilliant!
(, Wed 27 Jul 2011, 15:47, closed)
You don't think that
someone who is questioning the pointlessness of existence might perhaps find that, maybe, just a little bit, completely fucking soul destroying?
(, Wed 27 Jul 2011, 15:50, closed)
No way
It's excellent! Sometimes if I'm having a slightly stale day I pour little bit of Tesco value lager into the dog's water bowl for a little 'added entertainment'.

All I know is I'd rather work than not.
That said, I'm currently in a dull, tedious, office job which has bored my brain into atrophy and done the same for any muscles I had. Oddly, for what is supposed to be a job requiring skills, I find it just as tedious as the manual labour I did before becoming an office drone.
There's nothing wrong with wanting the 9 to 5 to go faster and living for the weekend -- it's what people have been doing since weekends were invented.
