This is a question Mix Tapes

Everyone's made a mix tape (or CD, USB stick, or whatever kids do these days). Mostly to get in someone else's pants, but we're sure there are other, lesser, reasons too.

So, who did you make it for and why?
And... what was on it?

I used to produce mix tape 'radio shows' with my little tapedeck.
I'd open the show, perform some (hilarious) DJ banter, then introduce each track, talking between each one in true Radio 1 style.

Eventually I set up a pretty sophisticated system where I played the song on a seperate stereo to the deck recording so I could talk over the intro of the songs - "And now, this is Garbage with Stupid girl... "

Had to remain absolutely still and silent during the songs though...

Guilty!
I did this too. I moved my way up to a hi-fi (as they were called in them days) with mic inputs that could be mixed over the record (yes, record) that was playing.

As an unpopular child I used to spend days in my room on my own making these radio shows. Even made my own jingles!

As I've got older the tapes I made seem to have "disappeared". Funny that.

sort-of on topic
that reminds me.....we used to make videos that were fake TV shows for both Latin and History class......complete with commercials.

I will never forget one product we made a commercial for: Celeriter Shoes (with the slogan: "Just fac it!")

(yes, 'fac' means 'to do'......and it was around the time of the 'just do it' slogan.....so it was a funny take on....oh, never mind)
