This is a question Mums

Mrs Liveinabin tells us: My mum told me to eat my vegetables, or I wouldn't get any pudding. I'm 32 and told her I could do what I like. I ate my vegetables. Tell us about mums.

My mother
told me we 'couldn't get ITV on our television' because she didn't want me to watch vulgar non-educational programming or advertisments. Consequently I had no fucking idea what any of my classmates were talking about when it came to most television programmes.

Utter shit like 'Why Don't You?' rarely came up, sadly.

I wasn't allowed to watch ITV either...

I hated Why don't you anyway, too many regional accents

The thing about it that was good
was that it was a window into the different worlds of children in the various parts of the British Isles. The 'Surrey Gang' would go go-karting, whilst the 'Belfast Gang' would make their own fun, with a mouldy potato and a brick with a piece of string tied to it.

You can make up for it now though
by watching all the piss poor TV your mind can take. Remember to vote for your favourite singer/dancer/celebrity/chef. Why not vote twice? Why not vote 76 times?

You were lucky
My mother wouldn't let us have a television until I was about 20. So every day after school I'd be straight round to my friend's to watch cartoons and Rentaghost, and every time we visited my grandparents my first words were to ask if I could watch television.

Grange Hill and Sesame Street were verboten though, on the grounds of being a bad influence and too American respectively.

Rentaghost
is without doubt one of the best television programmes of all time.

Up there with 'Knightmare' - high praise indeed.

My mum never let me watch TISWAS because she is a die hard Noel Edmonds fan!

My mum hates Noel Edmonds and loves Frank Carson
therefore I got the bucket of water song and pyjama based stiffies thanks to the wonderful Sally James

'Swap Shop' used to crack me up.
You'd get some dreamer trying to exchange a one-armed Action Man for a Millenium Falcon.

No Magpie for us...
only the sweet Blue Peter.

I was once caught watching the cartoon "Wait till your father gets home" and my mum literally made me wait for my father to get home to tell me I wasn't allowed to watch "American shite".
