This is a question How nerdy are you?

This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.

So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?

As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

Revel in your own nerdiness.

toy soldiers basically
warhammer for fantasy, think 2-3 inch high lead models of orcs, elves etc that can be painted

Warhammer 40,000 as above for the sci-fi version

Warhammer epic for grand scale sci-fi battles with tiny tiny models

BGB thanks for asking that...
I was too ashamed to admit my ignorance. Now I is proper clever (not!). I'm feeling a bit left out again this week, having no real nerdy talents (and never having seen a dead body didn't post last week either)!

I didn't know either...
We could have a mini QOTW for other things that we like. I'm quite the sweetie expert (i say expert, I mean fan) and love tea so much I can blind taste test the difference between Tesco brand and Twinings Earl Grey. But alas, most of the answers this week leave me cold as I've never seen a Star Wars film and the only console I've ever played on is a Wii because my other half needs to beat someone at bowling.

^^
you do the sweeties, I'll do the chocolate. Non-nerds of the world, arise!

Deal
I'm also quite a chipstick aficionado. Any crisp really as long as it isn't prawn cocktail or smokey bacon.
Much better than silly old consoles and programming and other stuff I don't quite understand!

ill just
leave you ladies to it then.

Actually hang on **Threadjack** quick question please, my not very girly female friend has invited me and some other guys to a hen do that we have to organise, any tips please?

I luuuuurve chipsticks
But they have to be plain.
(, Thu 6 Mar 2008, 20:32, closed)
Halfy....
Just supply lots of alcohol and then run for your life.
(, Thu 6 Mar 2008, 20:35, closed)
Oh no...
Salt and vinegar all the way. Though I will accept plain if there aren't any others available. It's the way they get stuck in your teeth that does it for me...mmmmmm. I ALWAYS have a reserve bag of them in my cupboard.

As for the hen do, I recently went Go-Karting for my friends hen do. It was awesome, nothing funnier than a large group of friends trying to outspeed each other whilst wearing boiler suits and Stig style helmets. I loved it!

Chipsticks
salt and vinegar, for sure. Also have a slight weakness for Quavers.

Hen party - as previously said, copious amounts of alcohol, and as many M&B games as you can find. Twister is much more fun when you're pissed (actually its most fun as a two player game, naked and drunk but maybe that's just us!). Haven't been to a good hen night for ages.

Sucking chipsticks..
Till they disolve. Hmmmmmm.

Last great hen party I went to was when we went to the dog racing.

cheers all
We were thinking either paintballing or go-karts followed by liver damage!

The main worry is the next weekend is a stag do in Prague and two weeks before is the camra beer festival (see my geekdom) think i might go yellow and collapse at some point!

Whats a m&b party? We aren't allowed an ann summers party either, tried that one

hmmm
I'd say go-karting over paintballing as it leaves less bruising and you won't be so tired for all the drinking. Mr Van Pelt went to Prague for a Stag weekend...He thinks. can't really remember if that is any indication as to how it went!
oh I might have to go and get my secret stash of chipsticks in a minute.mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
