This is a question Old stuff I still know

Our Ginger Fuhrer says that he could still code up a simple game idea in Amstrad Basic, while I'm your man if you ever need to rebuild the suspension on an Austin Allegro (1750 Equipe version). This stuff doesn't leave your mind - tell us about obsolete talents you still have.

Lyrics
Not exactly obsolete but...

The other day in a fit of nostalgia I put on Manic Street Preachers' Holy Bible album, which I listened to *ahem* religiously as a teenager, but haven't played in years. I started singing along. Still remembered every word to every song.

My friend could do this with every Duran Duran album.
At first it was hell impressive and then it got old very quickly as the rest of us were mumbling something else to little miss word perfect.

This is quite impressive
Because this album has waaaaay too many words per bar or whatever, so they're not easy to make out. You must have read the lyrics quite intently. I mean who writes a song with a chorus which goes:

Kill Yeltsin, who's saying? Zhirinovsky, Le Pen,
Hindley and Brady, Ireland, Allit, Sutcliffe,
Dahmer, Nielson, Yoshinori Ueda,
Blanche and Pickles, Amin, Milosovic
Give them respect they deserve

Doesn't quite scan, does it?

Yep, and yet they are all there in my noodle.
I also remember when I heard it for the first time, and laughing out loud at the start of "Faster" when James Dean Bradfield sings "I am an architect!" in a dalek voice.

Oh Yeah,
I also remember when the Manics used to be good.

Heh, yeah.
I kind of lost interest from This Is My Truth... onwards, and was mildly surprised to find out recently that they've actually done a shitload of albums since.

I love that album.
Their one masterpiece. It's a terrifying album.

Haven't listened to it in years
But can remember that the fourth word of the first song is "Cunts".

Also, stuck in my head are two of the quotes in the sleeve of "Generation Terrorists"

"I talk to God, but the sky is empty" (Sylvia Plath, I think)
"Elvis was a hero to most, but he never meant shit to me" (Chuck D)
