It is not a political allegory, it is just an excuse for a very grotesque film. Allegory doesn't work on film, no matter what the director says.

I read the synopsis and it was awful. I couldn't spot any meaning to it at all. Suggestion is sometimes more powerful than exactly the same tripe that Saw 261 gives us.

Edit: in fact trying to give it a reason makes it worse. It's a perverse kind of justification. Pretty much the point that Al made above I guess

But I know I don't like Saw films. I don't know I don't like this until I see it.

It could just be that I want to see if I can handle watching it.*

I realise these are shit arguments but I've been smoking and watching Peep Show in bed all afternoon/evening. My brain is not working at the moment.
