My friend had a few in her arm
but two started to reject and she had all three taken out in the end. I just thought back/neck was an area that would be hassle, especially when sleeping.

No, they're at just the level where they don't hit either the pillow or the bed. If they're annoying me I just stick a couple of plasters over them and it's fine.
