I only meet my mum's dad, when it comes to grandparents,He had no legs, I thought he lost them in the war, that a tank fall on them, but it was diebities. Apparently he lost his big toe as a baby and couldn't walk properly, I wonder if losing your legs doesn't mean as much if you've already got a toe missing.
