because she gets mega excited and jumps on people sometimesthere will be a baby and an old man
so I'll have to take her elsewhere until around midnight

Well keep her on the lead when people first arriveAnd then you can correct her behaviour as necessary until the dog calms down.

No, I can't.I was told I needed to keep her locked in her cage if she will be at the house when people are there.
