OH I'm totally going to get a spray tan on saturday

Depends on your natural skin colour
Up these parts, our skin is white, verging on blue. Fake tans are obvious by their orangeness. Somewhere around Pantone 10145 C.

I find it interesting when freckly (usually redheaded) people catch the sun
They look tanned until close observation reveals that the freckles have just grown a bit and so the average skin colour is darker!

You may of course be different.

My skin is very pale and fine
and hardly changes in the sun, unless I burn it, in which case it peels and goes back to pasty white.

I've been away for three week holidays in sunny locations and friends tell me once I come home that I look like I need a week in the sun.
