do you meet friends at the pub or venture out alone?

A little from column A and a little from column B
I'll probably arrange to meet people in the pub, but I'll go there when I'm ready and they'll turn up when they're ready.

You can usually find conversation with randoms if you're bored.

I was thinking of heading to the bar by myself later. Not sure if I will though.
It's unlikely that I'll see anyone I talk to. That's unnerving, because I always wonder if people are looking at me like I'm a loser.
It didn't use to bother me when I went to my old haunt but they're out of town and I won't drink and drive.

Just take a book with you and sit at the bar.
If you want a mini-adventure, go to the pub on your own, you'll meet interesting (and drunk) people.

I find when I'm reading in public I'll get some random coming up and chatting to me about the book or asking what I'm reading.
It's great for meeting new people, new people who know what books are for. I find they're the best kind of people.
