I've been working very hard today.
I made a square panel of stained glass recently out of scraps that I had kicking around, and have mounted it on four pieces of opalescent glass to form a shallow box.

Today I made a square shape out of scrap copper sheet that I had, drilled appropriate holes in it, mounted it on the bottom of the box as a bezel, and have taken a 16" wide board and made a square base to mount it all on. I have drilled and routered appropriately to mount a puck-type compact fluorescent fixture inside and made it so that it can either be hung on a wall or put on a flat surface. It's not done, but there will be pics tomorrow of it when it is.

And now it's time for food and beer.

What do you do with your stained glass creations?

I've been trying to sell them.
Some are on display here, while others are on display here. Crossroads has successfully sold quite a few of my things, but I'm hoping that These Four Walls will start kicking in too as they have a higher level of traffic.

With any luck I'll get a bit more publicity soon- a neighbor who writes for a posh living magazine said that she'd submit an article on me to her editor, as they do ones on craftsmen periodically.

Good luck with that!
Is it quite a lucrative hobby?

Not really.
If I break it down to an hourly wage, I'm not making more than about $5/hour. But if I consider that otherwise I'm sitting around making $0/hour, it gets a bit more appealing...

Fuck yeah
you're one of my favorites on here, saw some of your photos a while back, good shit, get on that beer yo, it's saturday evening (for you, for me it's now Sunday morning rather unsettlingly).

Thank you!
I've been working very hard to refine my techniques and to think outside of the normal approaches to glass and come up with original things. And that's harder than one would think...
