We had this one recently and I can't be bothered having it all over again.
My favourite comic was The Beano.

it was indeed
Then when I got older it was The Mandy or the Judy (which then merged). Suzy was ok, Bunty was ok. Then came the Just Seventeen (which wasn't a comic but it came with my weekly/fortnightly comic delivery from Nana so was labelled thus in our house) and then the More. Then came New Woman, which was shit but made me feel grown up. Then Melody Maker. Then Loaded. Then I stopped getting my comics because I stopped looking forward to their release and the accompanying noms.
EDIT: I forgot to mention the Smash Hits years. Corky O Riley it's Kylie.

hmmm, not ringing a bell
I can remember my first ever Beano though. I'd been for a doctors appointment. My mum said "ooh would you like a comic? How about the Beano?" I must have been three or four and I LOVED it. I loved the colour of Rasher against the green of the grass as well.

I was a Beano reader as a youth
There was also a lot to be said for Wizzer and Chips.

Are there still the same range of kids comics that were around back in the day?
When i've bought comics for my newphew, they all seem to be associated with kids TV shows, rather than just general comic strips.
