I think the thought that somebody actually wanted you to attend their wedding should suffice.
Anything else is a bonus.

As much as I go on about hating the idea of marriage etc, it is nice to be invited to a wedding and see two people madly in love.

Oh completely.
Makes me cry my eyes out. I loved seeing my mates so happy and giggly, and their parents saying nice things about them.
I knew them both before they got together, and it was something everyone could see was obvious, but it took them ages to get together, and then six years later there they were getting married.

Out of all my old mates there is only me and my bezzy mate in New Zealand who hasn't got married and had kids.
Although she is happily settled in a relationship.
