I passed Ian Hislop on a flight of stairs at my old school once
Our debating society had arranged for him to be a guest speaker and tickets were like gold dust. As one of the organisers I had a front-row seat and was very excited. Obviously that day I developed the most painful eye infection of my life to date and had to go to hospital to have my eyeball scraped.
