That's disappointing
what you up to for the rest of the evening?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:00, 2 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I don't know.
I'll probably watch telly for a bit and I might have a beer.

Yourself?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:05, Reply)
Might find a film to watch
can't think of anything though
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:07, Reply)
Are you thinking of streaming a film?

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:10, Reply)
Yeah
which gives me quite a lot of choice
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:12, Reply)
Why not see if you can find a the first episode of House of Cards?

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:16, Reply)
Hello hotstuff, get back ok?

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:05, Reply)
yeah thanks
did you have a good rest of the day?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:07, Reply)
Ducks were good, as were geese and herons and coots and whatever the fuck the satanducks were.
Managed to feed a crow as well. Exciting times.

Doing much at the moment?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:12, Reply)
Nope
though the cupcakes were lovely. What are you up to this evening?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:14, Reply)
Glad to hear it!
Hope you enjoyed the Black Bottom one. They are nom. I am in bed and I have little intention of leaving. You?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:19, Reply)
It was so good
though I felt like I was going to go into a sugar coma.

I'm cold, looking for a film. Any suggestions?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:30, Reply)
What genre of film?

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:31, Reply)
I feel in the mood
for something mindless. Not serious, just brain-candy etc
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:37, Reply)
Don't watch Kick-Ass.
Have you seen 'Bellman and True'?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:44, Reply)
nope, what's it about?

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:57, Reply)
It's a british crime/robbery drama.
It isn't a 'current' film, so it might be difficult to find, but it is very good.
(, Tue 22 Mar 2011, 0:06, Reply)
Sounds a bit serious for tonight
but I'll keep it in mind for the future

*there there*

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:13, Reply)
Are you still busy using up all of your free texts on TC?
How are you this evening berk?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:15, Reply)
*grin*
*pauses*
*grins some more*
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:18, Reply)
You've been in touch with TC haven't you?
Or was your soup that good?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:20, Reply)
Lots of texting
some of it nice and some of it white hot flirting. It's all good.
My soup was awesome as well, of course.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:21, Reply)
So when are you next seeing him and where are you going to go?

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:24, Reply)
Friday.
he's coming round here for dinner. Just don't tell Swipe, she'll tell me I'm a pikey.
He was absurdly touched, apparently he's never had a date cook for him before.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:25, Reply)
Two questions.
1. What are you going to cook?
2. Have you made your play-list yet?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:26, Reply)
I don't know
and no.
Argh.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:27, Reply)
Suggestion.
Cook something that you can prep massively in advance so you aren't spending too much time in the kitchen.

Regarding play-list, this is quite important. Do you use Spotify?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:29, Reply)
Dessert will be done the night before
I was thinking chocolate kahlua cheesecake (he likes coffee flavoured things and chocolate)
For mains I thought thai green curry because I quite fancy one. But the two don't really go; I'm shit at menu planning, I just eat what I fancy and don't give two shits if the courses match.
I do have Spotify. But I hadn't really given a single thought as to a playlist! What's your thoughts?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:34, Reply)
Well you're in touch with TC, not me, find out what sort of tunes he favours and then pick your favourites of the type.
The good thing about making a curry, is that you can make the sauce 24 hours in advance and then just cook the meat/veg on the night and leave to simmer.

The danger, is using a jar of sauce, most of them taste awful.

Otherwise, a roast dinner is quite stress free and once in, all you'll need to do is put the veg on as you can peel the spuds in advance and put them in the oven before the meat.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:37, Reply)
Paste? From a jar?
Are you mad, man? As if! *snorts derisively*
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:40, Reply)
That's what I'm saying though.
If you make the curry sauce properly, it'll keep.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:42, Reply)
Thai green curry sauce is pretty quick to make anyway tbh
I'd do most of the prep before he got there anyway. I just don't think what I want to make for mains and desserts goes together! And I know vaguely the kind of music he likes, but have no real idea about playlists...
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:46, Reply)
I'm sure we can have a 'berks date' disco thread.
Also - and without being crass, if you are hoping you might lock-lips with TC at any point, then maybe avoid onions and garlic?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:49, Reply)
Nah, if they both eat the same thing,
then neither will smell it.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:50, Reply)
But onions can repeat a bit.
That won't be nice if they are trying to tickle tonsils.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:53, Reply)
Shallots in thai green curry
and not even much of them.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:54, Reply)
It would be worth finding out if there are are food stuffs TC doesn't like.
Don't ask him what his favourite is, as it'll probably be something either he cooks 'the way he likes it' or it'll be something he orders in restaurants and that'll be difficult to match. But get a rough idea from him.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:56, Reply)
I am doing, right this very moment as it happens
he's not being very helpful. But he did say he'll eat just about anything, which is nice, because the ex was fussy as hell.
(, Tue 22 Mar 2011, 0:00, Reply)
Otherwise, just make a nice chili.
And serve it in a large bowl, allowing you both to take as much or as little as you like.

It avoids causing offense if the other person isn't too keen on it, and you can say, 'Oh my, I've cooked loads!' in advance.
(, Tue 22 Mar 2011, 0:09, Reply)
That is actually the other option
but I dunno, I thought it was a bit boring maybe.
(, Tue 22 Mar 2011, 0:11, Reply)
...
that's a really good point. Damn. That's pretty much everything I make well, then...
Or I could just wait until after dessert?
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:51, Reply)
Are you talking about music or 'snogging' now?

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:52, Reply)
Snogging.
boy is going to get pounced.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:55, Reply)
So what you cook is going to be double important then.

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:58, Reply)
You might be.
Hello, mysterious stranger.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:13, Reply)
I'm not.
Trust me.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:16, Reply)
Strange maybe
rather than stranger...
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 23:19, Reply)
Strange is quite a good word to describe me.
