Half an hour agoNZ won the toss and opted to bat. Smith said he'd have done the same but the Saffers are making a mockery of the idea that it's a batsmen's wicket - Guptill and McCullum are back in the hutch already. Kiwis 17-2 off 7

It has been pointed out to me that whilst the Saffers are fielding five specialist bowlers in addition to Jacques Kallis,New Zealand have Jacob Oram batting at NINE. So they have a significantly shorter tail and some serious biffers down the order.
