Yups.
My friend's parents own a hotel by some natural springs in The Yukon. He told me there is nothing better than sitting in a natural hot spring, drinking a cold beer and watching the sky dance. I don't doubt him for a moment.

oh man, that sounds like heaven

Chuck in a fat spliff and I'll see you at the pearly gates.

deal.
basically, I think it would be rude of me not to watch the Northern Lights while smoking some Northern Lights.

Mixed with Purple Haze while listening to Purple Haze.

Indeed.
Amazing weed in Canada too so you'd be a happy boy.
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 14:52, Reply)
maybe going to Canada to see them is a better idea than going to Iceland then
that way I'd get to go to Canada as well.
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 14:53, Reply)
I'd quite like to go to Iceland, they've got a fucking massive rift valley from separating tectonic plates.

(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 14:54, Reply)
it's got cheaper now
since their economy got fucked up.

Toying with the idea of going next year, as they are predicting it being a good year for the aurora. Probably something to do with the world ending.
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 14:56, Reply)
Coming up to solar maximum innit.
It's impossible to predict when solar activity will effect the atmosphere (edit: unless you're prepared to go on 24-hours notice) so it's all down to luck really. You've got a better chance next year than any in the next eleven years. It's certainly on my list of things to do, probably in 2023.
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:00, Reply)
I'll put a date in the calendar.
Northern Lights bash 2023.

(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:04, Reply)
I'm all for that idea

(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:04, Reply)
I went last year
it was London prices but no worse, really, although booze is expensive. Icelandair do package deals for about £250 and they're a bargain.
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:02, Reply)
that is good to know, thanks

(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:04, Reply)
I've always wanted to go to Iceland.
New Foundland is probably the closest I've ever got to something that looks like it. That hebridean look is beyond beautiful to me.
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 14:59, Reply)
Aw me too.
I love barren looking landscapes.
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:02, Reply)
Windswept, cold and rugged.
I like my views like I like my men...
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:06, Reply)
Old, hairy and drug-addled?

(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:07, Reply)
Haha!
*rugged men high fives*
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:08, Reply)
*flexes*

(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:09, Reply)
You're just right but any more weight loss and I'd have to kick you to the kerb.

(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:10, Reply)
I'm pretty much done now
but shoulders and arms are getting more muscly
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:12, Reply)
The Outer Hebrides are the best place I've been so far
absolutely stunning
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:02, Reply)
I would love to go there.
My parents went to the Faroe Islands a few years ago and loved it.

I might just quit my job on Monday, empty my bank account and fuck off north.
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:10, Reply)
it really was beautiful
are you my friend on facebook? if so, I have some pictures of it on there. I think. or my mrs does.
(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:11, Reply)
Yups. I'll have a look now.

(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:12, Reply)
I'm hoping to be able to travel for a year in my early fifties.

(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:11, Reply)
I'll meet you somewhere along the way.

(, Fri 1 Apr 2011, 15:15, Reply)
