Tate Modern is simply a nice place to be. Don't go in with any expectations and you might enjoy it. Or expect everything to be wanky egotistical shit and ruin your day out.

and left in rage. Honestly, a room full of white canvas for an exposition called, wait for it, "White". And half a glass full of water called "The Oak Tree" with an explanation next to it of why that water wasn't water anymore, but an oak tree. And people pays millions for it. Crap.
I think MirĂ³ will be ok for a while, then I'll get upset with him using only 3 colours and tell Mark I'm going to the caffeteria to read my book before I get upset and spoil his present.

It's fucking huge, there's plenty for everyone. For example, when I went, there was one room which had a collection of photos some guy had taken on the New York train network in the eighties, just people and places, but beautiful photos capturing moments in life and history. Nothing "modern arty unmade bed six million pounds WTF!?" about it, just beautiful imagery. I know I can't change your mind here, but if you give it a chance you might find half the stuff there really wonderful. Going with the expectation that it'll be shit will make it shit.

the pictures, some drawings, some sculptures that don't make sense, but bring you some feelings. That's nice. Problem is that it's mainly crap, and I always leave upset and very crossed at having spent my money and/or time there.

but so is how much clubs pay for footballers or rich people pay for anything.

It's the celeb culture, not art. You pay millions if the artist is famous only.

Clubs never intentionally pay more for footballers than they are going to earn off them. It's just business.

than what it contained. This is true of a number of museums, however.
