Surely your lofty title means you get an invite?

I moved to Germany.
Apparently they cut off the German side of the family. Something about a war...blah blah blah.

Christ some people have long memories
We've every right to be pissed off with the Krauts, but only because they keep beating us at football

Since we haven't qualified for anything
since 1998 on account of being shite at football, we have to fall back on the next best thing: supporting England's opponents. And thankfully they're generally very obliging.

They don't even have to be any good to make us look foolish any more
I wish the media could deal with the idea that England are categorically a second-tier team so we don't get our hopes up before every tournament

True anecdote alert
I have an Aussie mate here going out with a German girl. He wasn't allowed to attend Xmas lunch with her Gran cos the gran said 'Auslanders' (foreigners) were not welcome in her house. Needless to say she made her excuses and didn't go.

That never would have happened under the Nazis.

Oh wait, yes it would.

I think attendance would have been welcomed
Provided they were happy to wear a big gold star

Funny that
the German royal family are having a wedding and you don't get a day off.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 9:26, Reply)
Germany has a Royal family?
And on another note if a public holiday here falls on a weekend we don't get the Monday off. A travesty!

Our lot are Saxe Coburg Goethe
Doesn't sound like a fine British name to me.
