I buy music quite a bit, probably a few albums a month, and I pay for a few audiobooks/podcast thinggies.
'cus I got iTunes on my phone, it's too easy to just think "OK, £2 for an hour and a half of Ricky Gervais making me smile... I'll get it", because you don't see the money, just the results... but eventually £15-20 is gone each month.

Some of them are really shit, but there are a few real jems, "Old jews telling jokes" is a good background one.

It's the same with the music.

I'm so bad at paying for music etc
that I have £25 on my itunes account that I can't bring myself to spend.

Let me put it like this, if you don't ever spend it, you've given apple £25 for fuck all.

Good point
What shall I buy?

Hmmm...thinking of stuff that you maybe possibly might not consider/know.
- Old jews telling jokes
- Dan Le Sac vs Scroobulus Pip: Angles (my fave album evah)
- Plan B: The Defamation of Strictland Banks
- Adle: 21
- Semi Sonic: Feeling Strangly Fine

Hmm
I am considering comedy, actually, There's a few stand up DBDs I've had my eye on.
Don't know these people. What type of music is it?
I prefer Plan B's earlier stuff, more rap than RnB.
I'm enjoying Adele at the moment, so that's also a possibility.
Not a band I've ever considered. Don't know why.

Broadly speaking, my musical taste overlaps 14 year old boy, 16 year old girl, and old fart.

Some of the jew stuff is cringe worthy, and I'm not 100% sure everyone would get the humour unless they were bought up in a jewish household, or somewhere like the east end, but there is a lot there for everyone.
DLSvSP are amazing hip hop artists, and Angles, their first album, have the most inspirational and clever lyrics I've ever seen in rap. Not a single song is "I AM SO GOOD, LOOK AT MY BLING". It includes a song about Tommy Cooper and Beauty, which always makes me smile. It really is awesome.

0o0o0o0oh, didn't realise you were into rap, Example's album "What we made" is good, and I quite like Devlin. Dirty Diggers aren't bad eaither.

Adele is good background music I find, doesn't get me pumping, but is one of those good background albums that lets you think about whatever you have to think about.

I totally dig SemiSonic, oldie but a goody.

I'd like to second Mr Pops' recommendation of What We Made
Whilst his new, chart-friendly stuff is OK, Example's first album is bloody great, very catchy with some decent rapping and a brilliant sense of humour - he used to be a stand-up, y'know.

I was not aware of that.
I will have to investigate.

This is a good point
Also, there must be songs out there that you can't find a decent version of on Limewire
(, Tue 10 May 2011, 12:25, Reply)
Get with the times, DF
Limewire died a long time ago. All the cool kids are using Youtube to MP3 these days. Well, I am, anyway. Firefox add ons FTW.
