well, it's a front-loader
so whichever way I stack the clothes, they're going to end up unbalanced.

I'm very much afraid the washer is in its death throes. This will undoubtedly be my fault when it goes and we have to buy a new one.

I don't think you'll find many toploading machines over here.
I'm not sure why you tend to have them more than the front-loaders.
