I know nothing of the genre
but it seems to me you should be adventurous...at worst you could grow mushrooms in it

She typically writes very good stories, had 5 books about real relationships
then she snuck in a book that was about a girl that fell in love with a dude and he died in the ocean and when she got older she went back to the place and he came out of the ocean but couldn't leave the immediate area around her beach house
it pissed me off because I didn't know it was supernatural, I don't like books like that, she has other books that are like that, she should've classified that book in with the supernatural ones, and this will likely be the same.

I know I'm being dumb, But she has this series of books, this is the 8th.
The first 5 books were all connected, the sixth wasn't, the seventh was.
They aren't specifically a series, but they all have connections within the characters, the books are all named with a single word.
Why slap something different and not connected at all into it? Especially when you are already writing three other series of books?

this makes complete sense
If you're going to theme books, theme the contents, too
