My Mum tended to deal with the day to day stuff, stop fighting, etcBut my Dad was brought in if you'd done something really wrong. I was mainly a well behaved child, so I didn't tend to get into too much trouble with either of them. If you had been in trouble, you'd get a telling off, but if you'd been REALLY naughty, you'd get a spanking.
I intend on disciplining my children in the same way, making sure they realise that if they overstep the mark, they will get a crack.
