I think it depnds on the child.As someone who never saw the fun in misbehavior, I think it was, and if my children are similarly pleasant, yes.
If they are little buggers I would slap them about a bit more.

So the thought of less shouting and physical discipline doesn't appeal?I understand a clip round the ear may not seem very physical to you, but bear in mind I was raised by hippys.
