He was probably worried about Serotonin poisioning
if you took a fuckload of ecstasy it would effect the drugs you were pescribed and St Johns Wort can cause the same thing.

A friend of mine recommended it as a good way to assist in putting on muscle through weightlifting, a conversation which came about as a result of my bemoaning the lack of protein in my mostly vegetarian diet
