There was a three hour music retrospective on new years eve 1989that went over the eighties as an era. It was bloody excellent. Apart from the SAW stuff, obviously.

I remember seeing it.I'm fairly sure both the best and worst band (based on a poll of votes) was The Smiths.

I've probably got it on a tape somewhere.But nothing to play it on.
I'm pretty sure there is an episode of The Saint and Greavsie recored after it.
