I came so close to chucking my phone against a wall, and I stopped myself, and I had a glass in my hand ready to lob it, I wish I did, would make me feel so much better (and so manly and dramatic too), but I didn't.

Doesn't work that way
You feel manly when you throw it but as soon as it hits the wall you feel irredemably childish....

I donno, the release of anger would have been better than letting it simmer for hours while I avoid everyone in the world and take it out on people online.

Try it then.
When you destroy anything you have to pick up the pieces and count the cost and it can be a humbling exercise.

Maybe less humbling and more of getting on with life.
You've had your fit, now to pick up the pieces and move on.

Yah', the moment's gone now, a pint glass wouldn't be worth anything financially or sentimentally, it's probably knicked from a pub to tell you the truth, but would have been so satisfying.
I'm sure they'll be another moment like it though =)

Picking up bits of broken glass from the floor
Never let anger or frustration manifest itself physically, however tempting it feels.

Voodoo dolls are a very primative but exceptionally effective concept.

I find that as I get older expressing my anger and frustration makes me feel better.
Even if it upsets other people, at least they know how you feel.

Plus I broke a door at work, and that felt nice.
