Made any progress with the applications?

not really
there's not anywhere I'm really qualified to apply
I've sent it to a vet's office and there's a couple others I've noticed online I can apply. But there's not much out there.

Send in a copy of your (all new) C.V on spec to companies along with a covering letter.
Go through the Yellow Pages, find all of the industries you are interested in working in, and send something on the off-chance. It'll show a bit of enthusiasm, rather than waiting for them to advertise a position.
