Or suspend it from a mini blimp, with just enough Hydrogen in to keep it higher than the dog can jump
the dog can then spend hour after hour jumping to "play" with the baby until it suffers a massive Cerebral hemorrhage and has a fit across the floor, flinging blood and excrement up the walls and over granny before sucombing and collapsing in a fluffy ball of feces smeared fur.

meanwhile the "child-blimp" has floated away in the confusion and bumped into a "White Company" lilac spring candle, igniting the Hydrogen and destroying the house on top of the whole sorry lot of them, thus solving the problem.
