They are fucking terrible and have never recorded a single decent tune.
The bass player - far from being 'amaaaazing' as some people claim - is appalling. If I am ever anywhere where someone gets out one of their CDs I invariably cry 'put it away, put it away, put it away now'. Funky-rap-rock? Dear God no. Fucking stop it.

Speaking as a bass player (hindered by limp wrists or otherwise)
I can confirm that he is phenomenally overrated.

I studied and admired his playing when I was about 15. This was before I had the all-important epiphany that slap bass actually sounds fucking horrible and, even if you will insist on slapping the thing, there are people out there who are leagues ahead of him in terms of technique, ability and not looking like an overgrown, gurning spastic.
