We did that with West Brom and Greening.Said we signed him for £4m but we actually took him on loan and then at the end (when his contract at West Brom expired) signed him on a free. Then West Brom do some loss of earnings financial wizardry and get £4m out of the taxman or something, I don't understand, and we get a free player. My mate's head of marketing and brand management and fills me in on all this stuff.
