2001, A Short History and 1984three of my favourite books

I'd only read A Short History before, probably three or four times.I came fresh to the other two. 1984 was excellent but ultimately depressing and quite sickeningly violent in the last couple of chapters, and 2001 was epically mind-bending although it left a lot of unanswered questions. I have 2010 and 2061 on my "to read" pile which'll hopefully answer a few of them.
