Which total war are you playing?I've always liked the idea of them more than the games. But haven't played any since medieval.

Empire.It's so massive and complicated that I don't know if it's as good. The upgrade options for buildings and stuff are a bit opaque so I've been playing it for a few hours and I've only just got my head around it. It's not as good as Medieval 2 for my money, but we'll see.
The world domination only gives you 100 years, and since each turn is 6 months, that only gives you 200 turns, which doesn't seem enough to research everything you need to end up with the really cool soldiers.
