Slightly worrying
For "playing the system" reasons I get paid by more than one company in lieu of pay rises from my main employer. However, the bookkeeper who administers all this is extremely fastidious, so hopefully I should be ok.
I assume your sandwich comment is some sort of post-ironic statement on the recurring discussion of mundane functional things such as "lunch". I often eat sandwiches too.

I ate some halloumi once
My pay is far too low to have any effect on the economy. My spending on records is keeping the music industry afloat and my wife is the most profligate person I know, her efforts alone ensure that the economy will never stagnate.
