I tell you what I've found to be the case in recent years,
the Russian classics like your Dostoevskys and your Tolstoys are really, really fucking good. I was hugely impressed by Crime & Punishment and War and Peace is excellent too.

The old bullshit trotted out about people like Shakespeare
that the themes are universal and thus make the works instantly relevant and engaging today, really are true with the Russkies, in my opinion.
