They did this to me.
For six months they took nothing so I cancelled the DD assuming it had finished. Suddenly got a whole heap of shitty letters and calls - turned out they'd paid off my loan with someone else's money.

OK, resume taking the payments, I said - they told me they'd have to increase my monthly repayments to cover their error as they were 'unable' to simply extend the term. Utter fucking cunts.
